Task Expiry.. Can it be displayed in the work queue

Postby kedar.raybagkar » Thu Oct 20, 2011 1:23 pm

Hello,

When we associate a MANUAL and TIMER based tasks to a CONDITION then is it possible to show the expiry date against the MANUAL task based on the TIMER?

Meaning, say there is an approval for a quote that is required and say there is a timer based activity which waits for 3 days. After 3 days this quote is discarded as the approval has not happened within the stipulated time frame. Then is it possible to show the expiry time (just like on ebay the bidding time is displayed say last 30 mins)?

If this facility is already present then let me know how to get it from YAWL.

Thanks & Regards,

-Kedar.

Since YAWL 2.2, when a work item has a timer, the 'Age' field of the work queues changes to an 'Expires In' field, and show the amount of time the item has left before its timer expires.

Hi Michael,

I tired what you had suggested and it worked well in case of a manual task that has a TIMER.

My question, though, was directed towards the human task participating in a conditon. This condition also has an automated timer based task. When we attach two tasks to a condition (represented as a cricle in EDITOR) then only one arm of the condition will work. To explain it further, I have attached a print screen of the flow. IN the attached flow we have two tasks one Manual approval and second an automated timer based task. In a full fledged flow there will be additional task below the automated timer based task but the attachment is just a sample representation for this query.

What we needed was to show expiry period on the manual approval task even though that particular task does not have a timer based activity.

Regards,

-Kedar.

No, there's no facility to show the remaining time for a timer of one work item to be displayed with a different work item in a deferred choice construct.

The next release will include an interface B method called getWorkItemTimeExpiry(), which will return the timestamp when a given work item's timer will expire (if it has one).
